Colombian Expert Visits Denison

Miguel González, curator of La Tertulia Museum (Cali, Colombia) and well-known Colombian art critic will present film screenings and a discussion at Denison University. Sponsored by the department of modern languages, González will speak on “Colombia: Art and Violence,” at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the Burton D. Morgan Center Auditorium (150 Ridge Road). He also will present screenings of films with questions and answers at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26; Thursday, Feb. 28; and Friday, Feb. 29, in Fellows Hall room 103 (300 West Loop). All are free and open to the public.
González has received several awards for his work as assistant director in films such as “Carne de tu Carne” (Carlos Mayolo, 1984) and “El Día que me Quieras” (Sergio Dow, 1988). He has worked with film directors Werner Herzog (Cobra Verde, 1987) and Franceso Rossi (Chronicle of a Foretold Death, 1987).
