GRANVILLE, Ohio— A lecture that explores the lasting effects of the Holocaust on humanity will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the lecture hall of Denison University’s Slayter Hall Auditorium (200 Ridge Road). “Crying Out for Action: The Holocaust, the Dead, and the Responsibility to Protect,” by John Roth, the Edward J. Sexton Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at Claremont McKenna College, is sponsored by the Goodspeed Lecture Series and is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Sandra Mead at 740-587-6241 or visit www.denison.edu.

Roth’s work researches and teaches the role of humanities education in a regular citizen’s life. “In hard times, what good can it do to remember the Holocaust?” Roth has said. “Doesn’t such remembrance invite more disappointment, when we consider how little the world has learned from that catastrophe?”
