Denison University’s annual interfaith week is a celebration of many religious traditions, offering a wide variety of opportunities to interact with people of other faiths. The events begin with a dinner program at 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, at Slayter Hall Shepardson Room (200 Ridge Road). The topic of discussion, “Kolam — a daily Indian ritual,” will be led by Ravi and Sheela Shankar. Other events of the week include: a meditative labyrinth walk, which will be open at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in the Burton D. Morgan Welsh Hills Room (150 Ridge Road); a film screening and discussion on “Portrayals of Islam in Media,” at 7:30 p.m. in the Burton D. Morgan Lecture Hall (150 Ridge Road); and “Patching Together a Meditation Quilt,” where participants will decorate patches of fabric on a quilt to contain thoughts, prayers and meditations, at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, in Slayter Hall 3rd floor (200 Ridge Road).

The final event of the week will be an Interfaith Panel Discussion on the topic “What if Obama Were a Muslim?” The panel will include representatives from the Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Roman Catholic traditions. The panel will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, at Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive).
