Denison University has announced the appointment of Amy Judge-Prein as president of the university’s alumni council, which has 21 active members and serves more than 30,000 Denison alumni worldwide.

“We are honored that Amy has accepted the presidency of Denison’s Alumni Council. She brings a wealth of experience as an attorney plus years of dedicated service to Denison. Her commitment to excellence and pride in her alma mater make her the ideal candidate to lead Denison’s alumni body,” said Steve Crawford, director of Alumni Relations.

A magna cum laude 1989 Denison graduate, Judge-Prein went on to graduate cum laude from University of Michigan Law School. She is a practicing attorney at the firm of Baker & Daniels in Indianapolis, concentrating her practice on regulatory matters for a number of life sciences clients and chairs the firm’s clinical research team. She counsels on clinical development, regulatory interactions, marketing practices, compliance, fraud and abuse, and risk management for life sciences companies.

Before joining Baker & Daniels, Judge-Prein practiced for 11 years in the Law Division at Eli Lilly and Co. at its Indianapolis headquarters. As associate general counsel, she served as lead legal counsel for the development and marketing of portfolios of products. She also trained marketing and medical professionals on various topics, including promotional regulations, anti-kickback laws, current pharmaceutical environment, best documentation practices and litigation prevention.

Prior to Eli Lilly and Co., Judge-Prein was a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Sarah Evans Barker in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

“I am honored to have this opportunity,” says Judge-Prein of her appointment as president of the Alumni Council. “The Denison experience is about much more than the snapshot in time spent as a student—my service to the Alumni Council continues to expand and deepen my connection with the University.  Spending time wandering the campus or in a classroom proves how timeless the Denison experience really is, and

I look forward to the work of the Alumni Council as we help to continue to fulfill the mission of the University.”

Judge-Prein is a member of Phi Beta Kappa; Mortar Board, the national college senior honor society; and was awarded a Denison University President’s Medal upon her graduation from the college. She chairs the Indiana Health Industry Forum Clinical Trials
