Lecture discusses women’s changing societal roles

GRANVILLE, Ohio—Maja Korac, a gender specialist from the University of East London, will give a lecture, titled “Migration of Women – Unlikely Places and Opportunities,” at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, in the lecture hall of Denison University’s Higley Hall (100 Ridge Road). Korac studies the gender sub-fields of conflict and development, and migration and integration, while focusing her research on several regions of Europe. She is a reader in migration and refugee studies at the School of Law and Social Sciences, University of East London.
 
The Laura C. Harris Symposium is dedicated to Dr. Harris’ memory as a revolutionary woman in the fields of education and medicine. The purpose of the lecture series, sponsored by Denison’s Women’s Studies Department, is to encourage Denison women to continue seeking new educational and professional opportunities.
