Lecture on Rousseau

GRANVILLE, Ohio—A lecture that explores Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s position on “self-love,” will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 20, in room 210 of Denison University’s Samson Talbot Hall (350 Ridge Road). The lecture, by Hans Lottenbach, assistant professor of philosophy at Kenyon College, is sponsored by the Titus-Hepp lecture series and is free and open to the public. Lottenbach discusses Rousseau’s theory of self-love, which opines that self-love, rather than being a mark of evil and a source of disorder, is always good and the is principle of human justice.
