Investment Club Hosts Denison Alumnus Tom Mallon

The Denison Investment Club welcomes Denison alumnus Tom Mallon '78 at 7 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 16) in the Presidents' Room in Huffman Hall (450 Chapel Drive). Mallon, the second speaker in the club's lecture series, will speak on "Your Job as an Investment, and the Businesses You Should Invest In." The session is free and open to the public.

Mallon is CEO of Regent Surgical Health, a company he founded in April 2001. Prior to that, he served as a founding member and remains a general partner with Gryffindor Capital Partners, a Chicago-based venture-capital fund. In 1994, he co-founded Same Day Surgery in Chicago and helped to recruit over 70 physician partners for this and other entities. He also helped the business to grow from two million dollars in annual revenues to over 20 million before successfully selling his interest in late 1998.

Before his health care ventures, Mallon spent 12 years in commercial office leasing, supervising the leasing and marketing for both national and local firms based in Chicago. During his years as manager for the Miglin-Beitler leasing team, the Chicago Sun Times selected the firm as Property Manager of the Year. Mallon holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Denison and a master of business administration from Harvard Business School.

Regent Surgical Health serves as a buyer, developer and/or manager of surgery centers and surgical hospitals around the country.
