GRANVILLE, Ohio—Kimberly D. Kendricks, assistant professor of mathematics at Central State University, will present a talk titled “Increasing Diversity and Equity: Retention Strategies for Underrepresented Students and Faculty in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM),” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the lecture hall of the Burton D. Morgan Center (150 Ridge Road). The event, sponsored by the Department of Math and Computer Science, is free and open to the public. A light reception will follow the lecture. Kendricks area of research is theoretical algebra with a focus on Groebner Basis Theory. With this algebraic theory, Kendricks solves robotics problems for robotics engineers.
