As a painter, illustrator, satirist, writer, muralist, printmaker, and activist, Kent’s long career exemplifies the changing roles of the visual artist and writer in the 20th century. The exhibition presents the artist in a multitude of professional and personal roles and includes original prints from Denison Museum’s permanent collection as well as objects on loan from Kent State, Smith College Museum of Art, Mead Art Museum, and the Columbus Museum of Art.
The Rockwell Kent Project was developed through an art history course offered at Denison in the fall of 2010, culminating with the current exhibition of the artist’s work.
