Since its establishment in 1955, National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has focused its resources on identifying and honoring the academically talented students of the United States. Through national recognition, NMSC encourages these scholars to develop their abilities by pursuing higher education and applying their skills in challenging careers. NMSC’s mission is to bring these bright individuals to light.

Through these endeavors, NMSC, which is committed to maintaining the highest standards, has earned a reputation for quality and integrity. Since its founding, NMSC has recognized 3 million students and has provided more than 335,000 scholarships worth more than $1.3 billion.
