Posted: March 12, 2010

The Women’s Resource Center and The Laura C. Harris Symposium at Denison University will host “That Takes Ovaries,” a multicultural drama, open mike movement and organizing tool for women and girl’s empowerment. The show begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 26, in Burke Recital Hall (240 West Broadway), and is free and open to the public.

“That Takes Ovaries” focuses on real-life women and girls and their inspiring stories. Working toward the empowerment of women and girls everywhere, the play mixes art and activism to create an international grassroots movement. Hundreds of open microphone sessions and dramatizations have been held by college campuses, theaters, national organizations and neighborhood women. Events are often fundraisers for local and global women and girls’ causes, thereby offering women’s organizations a tool for raising community awareness and money.
