Panel explores Latino migration

GRANVILLE, Ohio—A panel of experts will explore the topic of Latino migrations through “Borders, Identity, and Resistance: Political and Cultural Responses to Latino Migration” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, in the auditorium of Denison University’s Higley Hall (100 Ridge Road). The panel, facilitated by Eric Boehme, assistant professor of political science at Denison, will draw on the expertise of representatives of the Mexican Solidarity Network as well as Jennifer Johnson, associate professor of sociology at Kenyon College. It takes place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, in the auditorium of Higley Hall (100 Ridge Road). Co-sponsored by Migrations: Denison’s 2011-12 Spectrum Series and the Department of Political Science, the event is free and open to the public. Denison’s Spectrum Series embodies exploration across the liberal arts. This year’s Migrations theme poses questions, including those which regard the contributions of migration to our character and the manner in which migration has contributed to the complexity of the world.
