Reading of play “8”

GRANVILLE, Ohio—Denison University’s queer studies senior seminar will host a reading of the play “8”by Dustin Lance Black, gay-rights advocate and Oscar-winning screenwriter of “Milk.” The reading, followed by a talk-back, will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, on the third floor of Slayter Hall (200 Ridge Road).  “8” adapts a real-life courtroom drama to the stage, presenting the arguments for and against California’s Proposition 8, which was passed by voters in 2008 and banned same-sex marriage in the state.
