Lieutenant-General Roméo Dallaire
Lieutenant-General Roméo Dallaire will speak at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 1, in Denison University’s Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive). The lecture, “Dallaire’s Story of Courage and Conviction,” about his experiences during the Rwandan genocide, is free and open to the public.
In 1993, Dallaire took command of the United Nations Observer Mission for Uganda and Rwanda, and led the United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Cross in recognition of his exceptional leadership and professionalism.
Dallaire is the author of “Shake Hands With The Devil – the failure of humanity in Rwanda,” a book on the Rwanda genocide based on his experiences, and “They Fight Like Soldiers, They Die Like Children: The Global Quest to Eradicate the Use of Child Soldiers.”
The lecture is sponsored by the Denison College Republicans.
