Denison University Theatre Presents 'Room Service'

Posted: November 3, 2003

The Denison theatre department presents John Murray's and Allen Boretz's "Room Service." First produced and directed by George Abbott in 1937, this is one of the great comedy successes of all time. Performances will be at 8 p.m., Thursday-Saturday (Nov. 13-15) and Tuesday-Friday (Nov. 18-21) in Ace Morgan Theatre. General admission is $8, senior citizens $5, Denison faculty/staff $6, and students $4. For reservations, please call the theatre box office at (740) 587-6527.

"Room Service" tells the story of a nimble-witted producer, living on credit with several actors in a Broadway hotel, desperately in need of a good script. Finding one, as well as an "angel" to back the show, he embarks on a perilous production path, strewn with the most ludicrous and unexpected obstacles.

"Room Service" is directed by Jon Farris, with Peter Pauze serving as scenic and lighting designer and Cynthia Turnbull as costume designer.

Cast members include freshmen Christopher Beier (Ann Arbor, Mich.), Christopher Carr (Weymouth, Mass.), Lindsey Johnston (Perrysburg), Sebastian Orr (Chardon), and Jordan Rahal (Burr Ridge, Ill.); sophomores Aaron Blain (Columbus), Charles Hauser (Carthage, Mo.), Caitlin McCown (Beloit, Wis.), and Tariq Vasudeva (New Delhi, India); juniors Drew Lichtenberg (Pelham, Mass.) and David McDonald (Cincinnati); and seniors Daniel Burleson (Watertown, Wis.), Dominic Dodrill (Jackson), and Mark Soloff (Pittsburgh, Pa.). The student staff is composed of sophomore Mike Sato (Carmel, Ind.) as assistant director, junior Aileen Zeigler (Columbus, Ind.) as stage manager, and junior Brooke Aldrich (Bexley) and freshman Jordan Fehr (Cleveland) as assistant stage managers.
