The Denison University Department of Pyschology’s J. R. Kantor Memorial Lecture series will sponsor a lecture by psychologist Paul Rozin on “Food Intake and Food Choice: Enjoying Eating and Being Healthy in the 21st Century Developed World” at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, in the Slayter Hall Auditorium (200 Ridge Road). The lecture is free and open to the public.

Rozin’s work focuses on the biological, psychological and cultural factors determining individual food choice and the role food plays in human life. In his comparative studies of food attitudes and the function of pleasure in culture, Rozin has conducted research in the United States, France, Japan and India. He also studies ambivalence toward certain food, such as meat and chocolate. In addition, Rozin has been contributing to research in other areas of psychology, most notably positive psychology and ethnopolitical conflict.

The J. R. Kantor Memorial Lecture Series Fund enables the Denison psychology department to bring prominent psychologists to campus.
