GRANVILLE — Denison University welcomes the Rev. David Schilling to present a lecture on “Faith-based Advocacy for Economic and Social Justice” at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Higley Auditorium (100 Ridge Rd). This event is free and open to the public.

Schilling is program director for the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, a coalition of nearly 300 faith-based organizations. While at Denison, he’ll facilitate a student-driven dialogue about how to build partnerships between community shareholders and corporations. In addition, he will speak from his experience as a former member of President Clinton’s Anti-Sweatshop Task Force and as a current member of several faith-based human rights watchdog and advocacy groups.

This event is sponsored by the Goodspeed Lecture Series, the John W. Alford Center for Service Learning, and this year’s campus theme, the “Consumption” series. For more information, contact 740-587-6206, or visit www.denison.edu.

The Goodspeed Lecture Series features scholars whose work is in the field of religion or is related to religious issues. The series is named in honor of the late Edgar J. Goodspeed, an 1890 Denison graduate, who was one of nine biblical scholars who worked on the Revised Standard Version of the Scriptures.
