Senior Art Exhibition Opens at Denison Museum

The annual Bachelors of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts senior art student exhibition will open with a reception from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, at the Denison Museum (240 W. Broadway). The exhibition, titled “From the Basement,” will begin with student introductions and brief gallery talks at 10 a.m. prior to the reception. The exhibition, which will run through May 17, is open from noon to 5 p.m. daily and noon to 7 p.m. on Thursdays. The gallery talks and opening reception are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served at the opening.

The “From the Basement” exhibition displays the best painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video and multi-media works created during the past year. Six studio art seniors: Charles (Chick) Byrne (West Roxbury, Mass), Zachary Coneybeer (Uniontown, Pa), David Curtis (Ann Arbor, Mich), Jennifer Ingersoll (Hingham, Mass), Meghan Kirkpatrick (Cincinnati, Ohio), and Nathalie VanBalen (Pataskala, Ohio).

The Denison Museum is dedicated to providing students, faculty, and staff of the University, as well as the wider community, with a first-hand cultural experience. An on-going program of lectures, symposia, visiting artists, gallery tours, and other events is available to the Denison audience and the general public.
