Lecture examines the movement of ideas

GRANVILLE, Ohio—A lecture, titled “The Diaspora of Ideas,” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, in the auditorium of Denison University’s Slayter Hall (200 Ridge Road). Arjun Appadurai, New York University’s Goddard Professor of Media, Culture and Communication, will present the lecture, which will explore the forces that contribute to the movement and sharing of ideas. This event, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the University Programming Council and the Spectrum Series. Appadurai’s talk is the capstone of this year’s Spectrum Series theme of Migrations. The series’ goal is to challenge students to broaden their definition of the word “migration” to encompass a variety of topics and disciplines.
