Stollman addresses the values upon which fraternities and sororities were founded, touches on the ways in which today's students are not adept at exemplifying those values, and offers strategies for addressing that incongruence using lived experience and humor. "You are what you recruit," he says.

An active volunteer since 1995 for his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Stollman has served within the fraternal system as a chapter counselor, district governor, "Balanced Man" project steward, and as a member of the Educational Foundation's Board of Governors. In addition, he served on the staff of the North American Interfraternity Conference for two years, and is now chapter advisor for the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority at New York University.

Stollman earned undergraduate degrees in government and communications at the University of Maryland, as well as doing graduate work at Villanova University. He currently serves on the board of the Association of Fraternity Advisors and was the 2004 recipient of its Jack L. Anson Award.
