Lecture explores gender issues

GRANVILLE, Ohio — Joan Straumanis, a specialist in science curricular evaluation, reform and innovation, will present two lectures at Denison University, where she was a philosophy professor in the 1970s. The first lecture, “Selecting a Sex: Our Own and Our Children’s,” will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, in the lecture hall of Denison University’s Burton D. Morgan Center (150 Ridge Road). The second lecture, “Women & Science: an Update and Response to Larry Summers,” will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, in the same location.
