Denison Senior Studio Art Show

GRANVILLE, Ohio— Denison University’s Department of Studio Art announces an exhibition of its senior Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts candidates at the historic Louis Sullivan building at 6 West Main Street in downtown Newark, Ohio. The opening reception is from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 20. The exhibition will continue Monday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m., through Friday, May 4. Student Gallery Talks will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. All events are free and open to the public. The group exhibition will include the artwork of Rien Addis (Pasadena, Calif.), Colleen Cozart (Charlottesville, Va.), Ashlee Dickson (Circleville, Ohio), Kaitlyn Grissom (Newark, Ohio), Tanaya Jasubhai (Ahmedabad, India), Brittany Kunkel (Yardley, Pa.), Katelyn Legros (Waite Hill, Ohio), Stephanie Maniaci (Painesville, Ohio), Yue Nakayama (Shanghai, China), Xiaoshi Vivian Qin (Guangzhou, China), Hannah Reimann (Columbus, Ohio), Nick Reshan (Columbus, Ohio) and Meghan Swisher (Delaware, Ohio).
 
The exhibition makes its presentation off campus for the first time in college history and includes a range of artworks, including video, ceramics, painting, sculpture, drawing, and photography.
 
Students have organized the exhibition as well as collaborated with local alumni and Newark business owners and landlords in organizing this event, with leadership from Tommy White, assistant professor of studio art, and with the generous support of the Newark community.
 
Denison’s John Alford Center for Service-Learning shuttle will sponsor local school children to attend student led tours of the exhibition while it is on display.
