Denison Singer's Theatre Workshop Presents "Sondheim On Love"

The Denison University Singer's Theatre Workshop will present "Sondheim on Love," a musical review celebrating the songs of Stephen Sondheim, at 3 p.m. on Sunday (April 21) in Burke Recital Hall. The review consists of solos, duets, trios and ensemble numbers from 11 Sondheim shows. The performance is directed by Denison faculty member Belinda Andrews-Smith and is free and open to the public.
The program includes songs from Sondheim's "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," "Sweeney Todd," "Saturday Night," "Dick Tracy" and others. Sondheim has been writing American musicals for four decades and has won the Tony Award, the Grammy Award, the Oscar and the Pulitzer Prize.
The Singer's Theatre Workshop is an ensemble made up of numerous students from a variety of disciplines. The performance features seniors Liz Nelson (Charleston, W.Va.), Heather Hawke (Springfield), Josh DeVine (Faimont, W.Va.), Meagan Daniels (Indianapolis), Nicole Quintilliani (Bronx, N.Y.), juniors Emily Horabik (Chardon), Tiana Gabriel (Cleveland Heights), Jason Roberts (Pittsford, N.Y.), sophomores Blake Whyte (Kalamazoo, Mich.), Sarah Kronour (Lebanon), Morgan Harrison (Dallas, Texas), Morgan Koepke (Seven Hills), Emily Baker (Union, Ky.) and first-year students Brian Giovanni (St. Louis, Mo.), Elaine Martin (Mequon, Wis.), Megan Long (Chapmanville, W.Va.), Brittany Klintworth (Park City, Utah) Amy Burgess (Cincinnati) and Mandy Poolo (Bolingbrook, Ill.).
Andrews-Smith is a part-time instructor in the Denison music department.
