The Denison University Suzuki Program has set a special information session about the opportunity for adults and children to learn and enjoy the flute for 4:30 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 25) in the Burke Hall Rehearsal Room.
Teachers from the Denison Suzuki Program will present a 45-minute information session covering the Suzuki method and philosophy plus general information about the program. This session is for adults and for children accompanied by parents and will focus solely on the flute program. Denison also offers Suzuki instruction in cello, piano and violin to students ages 3 to adult. Additional information is available from Jim Van Reeth at 740-587-5606.
The Suzuki Method is a way of teaching music developed by Shinichi Suzuki who believed in fostering the potential in every person. Just as people develop the ability to speak their mother tongue, Suzuki believed that any person who is properly trained can develop musical ability.
