Denison Suzuki Program Sets Information Session
Date of Event: November 12, 2006
Posted: November 6, 2006
The Denison University Suzuki Program invites anyone interested in the program to attend an information session at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 12) in the Burke Hall Rehearsal Room on the Denison campus. The Suzuki Method is a way of teaching music to children developed by Shinichi Suzuki who believed in fostering the potential in every young person. Just as children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue, Suzuki believed that any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability and other life-long skills with the help of a skilled and caring teacher and his or her parent.
Teachers from the Suzuki program will present an hour-long session covering the Suzuki method and philosophy plus general information about the Denison program. This meeting is designed for parents and it is suggested that children not attend.
The Denison University Suzuki Program offers instruction in cello, flute, piano, and violin to students ages 3 to adult. The program currently has openings for cello, flute and piano students and is accepting names for a wait list for violin. The next session starts January 2,, 2007. Please call Jim Van Reeth at 587-5606 for additional information.
