Suzuki program concert

GRANVILLE, Ohio—The Denison University Suzuki Program will offer a concert as part of its Winter Festival at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, in the Burke Recital Hall (240 West Broadway). The concert will feature performances on the violin, cello, flute and piano. Featured performers include violinist Timothy Durbin, pianist Fay Adams, cellist Alice O’Neill, and flautist Wendy Stern. The concert is free and open to the public. Generous support for this event comes from the Granville Arts Commission, The Loft Violin Shop and Usborne Books. Durbin holds a doctoral of musical arts in orchestral conducting from Claremont Graduate University in Los Angeles, Calif., a master’s in violin performance from the University of Illinois and an undergraduate degree in violin performance from the University of Alabama. He is the director of the Suzuki String Program at the University of Louisville.
 
Adams is associate professor of piano, coordinator of keyboard studies at the University of Tennessee and is director of the Suzuki Piano School of Knoxville. She is a registered Suzuki Piano Teacher Trainer and serves on the Suzuki Piano review committee.
 
A Sister of Charity and cellist, O’Neill attended Boston University and received her doctorate from The Ohio State University.
 
Stern received her master’s in music from The Juilliard School.
