Denison University plans rally for national championship swimming and diving team

GRANVILLE, Ohio—Last weekend, the Denison University men’s swimming and diving team captured its second consecutive NCAA Division III national championship.

 
The college will recognize this achievement with a celebration rally at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, on the academic quad in front of Slayter Hall (200 Ridge Road). The rally is open to the public, and community members are invited to attend. For more information visit www.denison.edu.
 
Denison finished this year’s championship meet with a total of 600 points, outdistancing rival Kenyon College by 81 points. Over the course of the meet Denison's men set six NCAA Division III records.
 
The Big Red women’s swimming and diving team placed third in the final standings, marking the program's 16th top-3 finish in school history.
 
Following the four-day event, Denison’s Gregg Parini was named National Coach of the Year for the ninth time.
