Ross Szabo, director of youth outreach for the National Mental Health Awareness Campaign (NMHAC), will speak about depression and mental health awareness at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Denison University’s Slayter Auditorium (200 Ridge Road). The lecture, “What Happy Faces are Hiding,” is free and open to the public.

The NMHAC is a nationwide, nonpartisan public-education campaign that was launched as part of the 1999 White House Conference on mental health. It is dedicated to battling the stigma, shame and myths surrounding mental disorders.

The lecture is sponsored by Active Minds and the Denison University Counseling Center.
