Denison University’s Board of Trustees has awarded tenure to nine members of the faculty. Those who will be granted rank of associate professor in the fall are Seth Chin-Parker, psychology; Amanda Gunn, communication; Rebecca Homan, biology; Carrie Olson, art; Frank Proctor, history; Laura Romano, biology; Kimberly Specht, chemistry; Micaela Vivero, art; and Robert Weis, psychology.
“Professors at Denison are expected to demonstrate accomplishment in teaching, scholarship, and service to the college and to their profession,” said Denison President Dale Knobel. “Tenure and promotion from assistant to associate professor are big steps in a faculty member's career. The women and men who have earned these distinctions have acquired the respect of colleagues and students on our campus and have passed a rigorous review that includes input from teacher-scholars at colleges and universities around the country. We welcome our newest associate professors into the tenured ranks of the Denison faculty.”
