"Music Literature: Fact and Fiction" Performed at Denison

The Denison University Wind Ensemble, directed by Mark Wade, will perform “Music Literature: Fact and Fiction” at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, in Swasey Chapel (200 Chapel Drive). The event is free and open to the public.

The concert will explore musical literature from Paris to Las Vegas to Pompeii. It will present “Scenes from the Louvre,” in which the audience will get a musical tour of the famous Parisian art museum accompanied by representative visual art. The ensemble also will present the musical film score, “Godzilla Eats Las Vegas,” with graphics and animations. The “Grand Serenade” by the infamous P.D.Q. Bach will pose musical questions and/or musical jokes for your enjoyment. And “Vesuvius,” the volcano that brought Pompeii to its knees, will erupt for the audience.
