Satisfactory Grading Option
This opportunity is available only if the following conditions have been met:
-
The student has satisfactorily completed at least 60 semester hours of academic credit.
-
The student is not applying to use this option for any course in the major or minor field.
-
The student is not applying to use the Satisfactory Grading Option for any required cognate experience.
-
The student is not applying to use this option toward any general education requirement.
-
A student is eligible to utilize the Satisfactory Grading Option and will receive a grade of "<em>S</em>" for the course if the final performance is judged to be a "<em>C</em>" or higher. Such a mark does not affect the grade point average but the earned credit hours will be applied toward graduation. Should the final mark be a grade of "<em>C-</em>" or lower, the Satisfactory Grading Option is forfeited and the grade and course value will be included on the student's record in the traditional fashion.
-
The Satisfactory Grading Option contract must be filed with the Registrar's Office no later than 4:30pm at the end of the fifth week of the semester. The agreement cannot be rescinded once it has been filed.
