Ecclesia Chapel Program

Ecclesia, an ecumenical (all-denominational) Christian Chapel Program, is available to all members of the Denison community. Join us for Bible conversation, fellowship and prayer, over home-cooked dinner, each Wednesday evening at 6:00pm (while classes are in session). These weekly gatherings are led by Chaplain Mark R. Orten and are held at The Open House.

In striving to offer a service with appeal to all Christian traditions, a blend of traditional and contemporary components is utilized in Ecclesia worship. Additional variations and special services include: Taize style services once each month, a Lessons and Carols Christmas Service, and a Paschal Vigil on Easter eve.

We are a faith-based, Christian affirmation in assembly, working together, acting in authenticity, honesty and truthfulness, open to questioning and searching, with a commitment to service to one another and to the college community out of compassion and love.
