Presbyterians at Denison
Presbyterians at Denison is a group of students advised by Reverend Thom Lamb of First Presbyterian Church, Granville. We aim to provide an open and welcoming environment in which students can meet and interact with one-another and grow in their spirituality. Our activities include discussions before Sunday church services, shared meals on Wednesday nights and at the Thursday Chaplain's Table, service projects and mission opportunities, and other various events and outings over the course of each semester. Above all, we are a community of friends, committed to one-another both while we share time at Denison and beyond.
Wednesday Night Fellowship
Every Wednesday night, the Presbyterians at Denison descend on Fraley House Bed and Breakfast in Granville armed with appetites, stories from the past week, and terrible puns. Mel and Reed Fraley generously take us into their home, where we share a group meal, often cooked by students following recipes from home. Conversations, games, and the occasional bonfire often continue well into the evening. Wednesdays nights often prove to be a high point in the week, and we would love for you to join us.
Mission Work
We recognize that service is an integral part of faith, and therefore Presbyterians at Denison do our best to give back to both our local community and to those in need more broadly. We often offer opportunities for service-based mission trips, such as our recent disaster relief efforts in West Virginia, over Denison's breaks. More locally, we help out around the church and in the community, participating in fund-raising rummage sales and other service projects. Members are free to participate as they like, but service is often so rewarding that it is impossible to stay away.
