Housing Lottery

Students are housed in two stages. Current matriculated students are housed through a lottery process that occurs during the spring semester. First year housing assignments are made during the summer prior to entrance to Denison and are mailed to students during the first week of August.

Room Assignments for Prospective First Year Students

Once a prospective student has been accepted to Denison University and has paid the initial deposit, he or she will be sent a Housing Preference Form http://www.denison.edu/academics/firstyear/housing_pref_form_2009-1.pdf.

The HPF is due by June 1 and is used to match roommates for room assignments.

There are several pieces of information that are important to making successful roommate pairs. This information includes:

• Smoking Preference (all halls are smoke-free)
• Sleep and Study hour preferences, etc.
• Break Housing Needs
• Special Medical Need that Impact Housing
