Addressing
Mail received from the Postal Service is separated by name, department, and building address.
Please notify your correspondents of your complete mailing address, including your department's nine digit zip code.
With the onset of automation and in the effort to standardize addresses, the Postal Service has begun to replace alpha box numbers with numeric numbers. This process is usually conducted when a customer closes the alpha box. In this case, Denison University will not be closing any PO boxes. Denison University will be maintaining their same physical Post Office Boxes however; we have agreed to convert to numeric box numbers. The Address Management Systems department of the US Postal Service will ensure that both the numeric box number and the alpha box number remain in the address database during this conversion process. Either address will remain a valid mailing address for the same location. The numeric number (Primary) and the alpha (alternate) will be linked to each other and will remain in our address database. Please do not file a Change of Address for any of the PO Box addresses listed below as there is no "MOVE" or relocation involved.
In 2006, the United States Postal Service allocated numbers to replace alpha letters in the Post Office Box addresses at Denison University. Until the address changeover is complete, mail addressed to your Alpha Boxes will be delivered without any delay. They did not provide any specific time frame but are allowing us ample time for the turnover. The new addresses are as listed below.
