Division of Student Development Mission Statement
Denison University's Division of Student Development promotes our students' growth and self-awareness as individuals and as co-creators of our living-learning environment. We challenge students to both act and reflect, to respect self and others, and to apply their education and talents for the good of local and global communities. We advance and apply knowledge of student development to improve learning, growth, and collegiate experiences. We cultivate collaboration and engagement on campus and beyond in support of Denison's mission of educating students to live, work, and lead in a complex world.
The Division of Student Development provides a wide array of services, programs, and advising for students. The Division of Student Development includes:
The deans and directors in the offices of Student Development serve in a number of capacities to assist, counsel, and advise students in all aspects of their life at the University. They are available to discuss personal and academic problems and issues with students, and to assist students in availing themselves of the various resources of the University. They are also responsible for the administration of the policies governing student life, act as advisors for numerous student organizations and participate in the general governance of the University.
