The Women's Resource Center was established in 1978 with a goal of creating a campus climate that affirms women students and enhances their intellectual and social development. This is done through campus programming, advocacy training, assessment and resource sharing. This resource sharing includes referrals to resources on and off campus.

The Office of Women's Programs works with faculty, staff, and students to design and implement programs and policies of concern to women; monitors women's needs and receives grievances from women students, faculty, and administrators. It is also responsible for sponsoring and supporting SHARE (Sexual Harassment and Rape Educator). In addition, it maintains connections with campus groups and committees concerned with women's issues; planning and overseeing the Women's Programs Series; and supervising the Women's Resource Center.
