Eligibility Requirements
Individual Projects
Any Denison student is eligible to apply for support from the Horizon Fund, so long as the student is in good academic standing and not currently on any form of academic or disciplinary probation. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis over the course of the academic year, but applications for summer projects must be submitted by May 1. Applications may not be submitted for projects or experiences that have already been completed. Only new experiences will be considered for funding.
Students may seek up to $1,000 in support during their Denison careers. The level of a student's financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid, will also determine the percentage of this limit that the student can receive. The Board has established that all successful proposals will receive at least partial funding. .
The Horizon Fund may not be used for individual student research unless that research has already been awarded support through the Office of the Provost. In these instances, the Horizon Fund can be used to finance elements of the research experiences not covered through the primary grant.
Group Projects
Faculty or staff group leaders may apply for funding for group experiences, up to a maximum of $300 per student or $1500 total for the group.
