Low-Emitting Vehicle Parking at Denison
As part of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) requirements for the recently completed Bryant Arts Center, the university has installed three new “Low-Emitting Vehicle Parking Only” parking signs in the Burke Hall of Music and Art parking lot. These spaces are reserved for vehicles that meet or exceed emission standards as low-emmitting vehicles (LEV) set by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). The LEV parking spaces are provided to encourage the use of high efficiency vehicles, which have a lighter impact on the environment. This is one of the many features contributing to the Bryant Arts Center’s LEED Silver certification application.
LEVs include hybrid and non-hybrid models. To find out if a vehicle is classified as a low-emitting vehicle, link here to view the most recent list of certified low-emitting vehicles.
