President Dale T. Knobel

University President Dale T. Knobel and the college’s Board of Trustees have announced an agreement on a new multi-year contract that will keep Knobel at Denison’s helm through the end of the 2012-13 academic year, when he plans to retire.

The timetable enables the college to conduct long-range planning for a smooth leadership succession, while retaining Knobel’s leadership through the next three academic years, a new round of strategic forecasting, and the completion of several important campus construction projects.

“I’m honored to be of service to this extraordinary college,” Knobel said. “My wife Tina and I feel like we’re part of a family here on ‘the Hill’, and we both look forward to what is yet to be accomplished in partnership with the Denison community as I move toward the completion of 15 years of college presidency.”

Knobel took leadership at Denison in the summer of 1998 and is the second-longest serving president in the history of the college. He is already among senior university presidents in the nation.
