‘Migrations’ kicks off with renowned geneticist

Spencer Wells is a geneticist, author and explorer-in-residence for the National Geographic Society, but these days he may be most widely recognized as director the Genographic Project, which maps the migration patterns of human DNA across the world. This week, Wells was exploring our campus and spending a lot of time with students. He had dinner with the Sustained Dialogue group, lectured to a packed Swasey Chapel, and dropped by a couple of classrooms. Here’s Spencer (he asked us to call him that) in Nestor Matthew’s class, Statistics for Behavioral Science. Wells’ visit was the keynote event for this year’s Spectrum Series theme, Migrations.
