Remembering 9/11

DEN SHOTS:

This weekend, Denisonians honored the memories of those lost on Sept. 11, 2001, with activities across the campus and beyond. Volunteer students cleaned up a section of the Licking River and tended the Community Gardens in Newark. Others staffed a family night for the community, showing the movie Wall-E, and worked with Licking Memorial Hospital to provide free health screenings. And Sunday evening, at an interfaith service of healing and peace, Swasey Chapel echoed with the music of a 60-voice community choir singing Gabriel Fauré’s “Requiem,” featuring soloists Kevin Wines, tenor, Belinda Andrews-Smith, soprano, and Andy Carlson, violin, all members of the faculty of Denison’s Department of Music.
