Keep calm and study on

Classes ended on May 5, and Commencement, summer internships, jobs, service, and relaxation are quickly approaching — but students still have to get through finals, so we we wanted to offer up a handy-dandy guide to the week ahead.

Study hard. Get some rest. And good luck!

•    Just chill: The Whisler Center for Student Wellness  hosts its “DeStress Fest” on May 6 on the second and third floors of Slayter. Included are chair massage, reflexology (foot massage), pet therapy, crafts, and healthy snacks.

•    Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: “Operation Move-out” collects new or lightly used furniture, appliances, books, electronics, clothes, shoes, school supplies, and nonperishable, unopened food in the common areas of each residence hall all week. They’ll all be donated to local nonprofits.

•    Shhhhhhh! 24-hour quiet hours began on May 5, and they will last through the end of finals week. Please use your inside voices.

•    Get to work: The library has extended hours and is open until midnight on May 9 and 10, and until 9 p.m. on May 13.

•    Green eggs and ham? Curtis Dining Hall is open on May 6 for “breakfast” from 10:30 p.m. until midnight. Denison senior administrators serve the meals, and there are fun decorations, cookie decorating, coloring, and candy. Oh, and bring a funky hat; it’s Dr. Seuss-themed.

•    Breakfast for dinner: The library hosts an Interfaith Pancake Dinner on May 7 from 10 p.m. to midnight, in collaboration with the Religious Life Advisory Board.

•    That’s all, folks: Residence halls close for undergraduate students at noon on May 14, and for graduating seniors at 7 p.m. on graduation day (May 17). For more details on Commencement Weekend 2014, check out denison.edu/commencement
