The Class of 2013 learned a lot here — from critical thinking to the reasons why our seemingly odd choice in an unofficial mascot makes perfect sense. <h3>Commencement 2013: A Quick Look Back</h3> <p>Class co-presidents: Kasey Hoare (B.A., French) from Crofton, Md., and Shawn Whites (B.A., English) from Galion, Ohio</p> <p>President’s medalists: Abdi Ali (B.A., history) from East Boston, Mass.; Hannah Frank (B.A., educational studies and English) from Granville, Ohio; Shiyu Huang (B.A., economics) from Chongqing, China; Nathaniel Kell (B.A., mathematics and B.S., computer science) from Upper Arlington, Ohio; Kate Kloster (B.A., economics) from Saint Louis, Mo.; Sara Livingston (B.A., Spanish and sociology/anthropology) from Erie, Pa.; and Cullen Marshall (B.S., biochemistry) from Louisville, Ky.</p> <p>Valedictorians: Ashley Heestand (B.A., English and French) from Lexington, Ohio, and Katharine Waggoner (B.A., history) from Maumee, Ohio</p> <p>Salutatorian: Nathaniel Kell</p> <p>Fanfare for the Class of 2013, a composition written in 2009 by Associate Director of Music Ching-chu Hu, was played at the start of the ceremony.
