Dr. Richard Doyle  has been at Denison since 1967 teaching courses in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. His research interest is in the chemistry and biochemistry of mushrooms and the isolation and synthesis of novel amino
acids such as  from the mushroom, Phyllotopsis nidulans.

Dr. Doyle is membership secretary and treasurer for the Ohio Mushroom Society, an organization of over 200 members who are interested in the collection and study of mushrooms in the state of Ohio and surrounding areas.

Dr. Judith Doyle has been teaching physics at Newark Senior High School since 1977 and was a Presidential Award winner in 1989. She is a member of AAPT and conducts frequent workshops on various topics in physics such as the use of toys in teaching physics.

Together, Dick and Judy Doyle enjoy sailing and ballroom dancing
