Hi all you net surfers! My name is Whitney Stocker, affectionately known on the internet as The Appalachian Man. I am the proud father of two wonderful daughters, Chelsey and Cully. I also have a wonderful grandson, Vaughn. I am a naturalist/zoologist (BS in zoology from the Ohio State University) and professionally I study crayfish systematics. I work for the Biology Department of Denison University in Granville, Ohio where I manage a Biological Reserve. I studied under a great naturalist, Raymond F. Jezerinac. My favorite activities include hiking, biking, camping, birding, canoeing, and caving. My favorite place to be is in the Appalachian Mountains. My daughters and I live on 11 acres, 20 miles northeast of Newark, Ohio at a place known as Rainrock. Thank you for visiting my home page, I hope you found it interesting.
