Spring 2020 – The Hill – Denison Proud

A Closer View
Ebaugh has some new hardware: a scanning electron microscope. The microscope provides detailed 3-D images of objects by scanning an electron beam over the surface. This type of microscope, typically found only in larger labs, will allow students to partake in research, including analyzing magmatic processes to further understand volcanic history and developing new electronic materials that could lead to sustainable energy sources.

1900+
The number of Denisonians who attended the annual “Denison Everywhere” event  in cities around the world in January. So much Denison family love.

See the World
In January, the Peace Corps once again announced that Denison is a top producer of Peace Corps volunteers. The college is ranked No. 16 in the nation among its peers. This is the sixth year that Denison has ranked among the top 25 of these schools. Ten Denison alumni currently serve in countries around the world, and since the agency’s founding in 1961, more than 285 Denison alumni have served abroad as Peace Corps volunteers.

Art Anywhere
The Arts at Denison rallied artists of all kinds to submit work for others to enjoy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Students, faculty, and alumni submitted their projects so Denisonians could view beautiful and thought-provoking work from the comfort of their own homes.
