Your Body Is Your Strad (YBIYS) Virtual Institute focuses on the importance of awareness to understand functions of the real instrument – your body and mind – to help maximize musical communication and minimize injury in performance through the Feldenkrais Method.
Directed by cellist and Feldenkrais Practitioner Uri Vardi and former flutist and Feldenkrais Practitioner Hagit Vardi, the YBIYS Virtual Institute is a live interactive two-week institute open to all instrumentalists and vocalists – students, educators and professionals are encouraged to register.
The Institute offers opportunities to discover body awareness in performance, learn from cutting edge faculty and speakers, connect with world-class artists, and create a community with fellow musicians from around the world!
Violist Deborah Barrett Price is recognized throughout the country as an innovative pedagogue and versatile performer. She is the founder and artistic director of the Chamber Music Connection, Inc. (CMC), a nationally recognized program providing education, service and performance opportunities to students of all ages and skill levels.
A respected performer, Debbie currently serves as principal violist of both the Opera Project Columbus and the McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra. In the summers, she is an artist-in-residence at the Caroga Lake Music Festival (NY) and serves on the faculty of several summer festivals.
