What do you think it would be like to attend college with your sibling, or even your twin? Twins Katherine Ji and Emily Ji, members of the Class of 2022, know first-hand.

Both women are biology majors, and both have strong interest in music. Katherine is a music performance minor who recently gave her senior voilin recital. And Emily is a Spanish minor and cellist who performs with the Denison Orchestra and the Chamber Music Ensemble.

“Having someone to support emotionally and academically is really nice,” says Katherine. “We’re more competitive together.”

The musical seniors will be graduating soon and moving into separate health care careers but looking back at their time with the music department, they recognize the extraordinary level of resources they’ve enjoyed and “access, even as first-year students, to professionals.”

At Denison, students can fully engage in both the sciences and arts. “Despite being health professionals, there have been no barriers to being involved in both biology and music,” says Emily, who took advantage of private chamber music lessons.
