Some people call it the “basement of Higley” but the staff at the new Academic Resource Center (formerly the Academic Support & Enrichment Center) prefer to call it the “garden level.”

ARC's new location allows the Center to have its first dedicated space for tutoring. Dubbed “The Tutor Hub,” all first tutoring sessions will be held in this space, cutting back on that awkward “blind date” feeling when looking for a tutor in a big public space like the library.

Tutors and their tutees will have the option to continue to meet here. The Hub has been outfitted with white board tables and chairs and plenty of tutoring resources to foster a great tutoring experience. With 131 ARC student tutors and an average of 225 tutor requests a semester in 23 different subjects, it should be a busy semester for the Tutor Hub!

ARC will begin accepting tutor requests on September 4. Please make your requests at apps.denison.edu/requestatutor.

Tutors are available in the majority of academic subjects at no charge to students. Students must commit to meeting their tutor at a standing appointment at least one time a week, and the tutor and tutee will fill out a contract at their first meeting in the Tutor Hub.

Keep in mind: Many departments also offer drop-in tutoring.
